Sensor Universe

Sensor Technology is a rapidly developing field with a very broad range of potential applications, from agriculture to healthcare and from traffic management to oil production. Sensor Universe has been established in The Northern Netherlands to exploit both regional and international opportunities and has already attracted interest from important local companies and academic institutions.

These include Shell, Astron, LOFAR, TNO-ICT, the University of Groningen, INCAS3 and the Hanzehogeschool Institute of Technology. The latter provide both research facilities and Bachelor courses in Sensor Technology.

The aim of Sensor Universe is to connect all interested parties, including those interested in the technological benefits as well as entrepreneurs and investors, to put The Northern Netherlands at the leading edge of Sensor Technology development. The task is ambitious but economic development is created when all the interested parties are working together, pooling their resources and where strategy is planned and agreed. Sensor Universe aims to help the interested parties to find each other and stimulate collaboration. The Northern Netherlands has room to grow in an optimistic economic climate and Sensor Universe is here to support interested parties to create facilities for large and purposeful development.
